Rep. Ron Simmons Receives Prestigious Award From Statewide Trade Association
AUSTIN – The Texas Land Title Association (TLTA), one of the state’s oldest trade associations, recently awarded Rep. Ron Simmons (R-Carrollton) with the Outstanding Legislator Award during its Annual Conference and Business Meeting.
“We are pleased to present Rep. Simmons with this award in recognition of his outstanding service to the citizens of Texas,” said Leslie Midgley, CAE, Executive Vice President of TLTA.
During his first term in the Texas House, Rep. Simmons was honored to be named the “Most Valuable Player” of the 2013 Freshman Class by Capitol Inside. The son of public school teachers, he grew up in rural southern Arkansas. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Dallas Baptist University, which named him the Distinguished Alumnus for 2012. He is a member of the House Transportation Committee and serves as Vice Chairman of the House Business & Industry Committee. He is also on the Executive Committee for the Texas Office for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities and was unanimously elected to the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute Board of Directors.
