A Message From the President

Terry Grantham

TLTA President

May 24, 2005

Dear TLTA Member,

As my year as President draws to a close, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the membership of TLTA for allowing me to serve this association. As your President I’ve had the opportunity to observe first-hand the energy, expertise and ability of an incredible group of volunteers and support staff.

I would especially like to thank our Board of Directors for their hard work and perseverance. They have proven to be a dedicated and resourceful group of professionals that I have been able to rely upon for direction, advice, and action. I would also like to thank our Committee and Task Force chairs, and all TLTA committee members. Their volunteer service has required patience, teamwork and, in many cases, countless hours away from their “real” job. We are indebted to them and their employers for the contributions they have made to TLTA.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Leslie Midgley, our Executive Vice President, and the TLTA staff. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and loyal group of employees. If you ever have any doubts about this claim, just attend another state association’s convention or board meeting. You’ll come away in awe of the quality and quantity of the work accomplished by our staff.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the unrelenting effort of TLTA counsel, Tom Rutledge. Although you’ll never hear it from him, Tom’s meticulous and detailed analysis serves as the backbone of many TLTA initiatives and actions. We can all agree, if Tom doesn’t think it’s a good idea, it’s probably not a good idea. Thanks, Tom, for keeping all of us in line.

Last but not least, I extend my thanks to you, the members of TLTA, for the trust and confidence you placed in me. My primary purpose has been to represent you and the interests of our industry at the state and national level. I feel confident I have accomplished this goal, and hope to continue to contribute in this effort as Bruce Liesman assumes the role of TLTA President.

Warm regards,

TLTA President
