Dear TLTA Member,
I hope
all of you are enjoying the lazy days of summer. School is out,
vacations are planned, and schedules are just a little less hectic.
Most of my time this summer will be spent coaching (or thinking
about) Little League All-Star Baseball and TLTA. Probably in that
order, if my players have anything to do with it.
First of
all I want to thank all of you who have renewed your membership in
TLTA. Your continued support allows us to provide many valuable
membership services to you and your employees.
Some of the items we are already working
on this year include the 2004 Rule and Rate hearings and the 79th
Legislative Session which will begin in January 2005. It is still
possible that a special session on school finance could be called by
Governor Perry, and we are planning another trip to Washington D. C.
to continue to communicate with our elected representatives.
Several of our committees have already met this month and more are
scheduled to meet in July and August. These committee meetings serve
as the foundation for TLTA programs and activities during the year.
This year we have over 180 individuals volunteering their time and
talent to serve on these important committees. I would like to
extend my appreciation to all of you who have volunteered to serve.
You are truly the backbone of our association and essential to our continued
success.
As we begin to work on the many projects and programs slated for
this year, we need your support and involvement now more than ever.
It is
essential that we work together to support and protect the interests
of our industry. I look forward to the
coming year and urge you to contact me or a TLTA staff member if you
have concerns or suggestions.
Best regards,

Terry Grantham
TLTA President
