Dear TLTA Member,
I can’t believe it’s time for school to start again. Didn’t the
school year just end? If there’s one saying I truly believe more
and more as I grow older it is “time stops for no one.” What’s true
for students is just as true for TLTA as our Board, committees and
staff busily prepare for the 2004-2005 program year.
The education schedule planned for 2004-2005 is an excellent example
of the quality programming TLTA offers. Please join us as we kick
off a new seminar season with the West Texas Regional Seminar
to be held in Midland on September 22 at the Midland Hilton and
Towers. On October 19 & 20 the
Central Texas Regional
Seminar will be held in San Antonio.
This seminar is usually held in
Austin so please make
note of the new location. A new seminar entitled
Right Rules,
Correct Calculations Workshop plus Understanding Endorsements
will be introduced in San Antonio On October 21, and is also on
the calendar in various locations throughout the state.
for additional dates and locations.)

We have already started planning the 2005 Annual Conference to
be held at the spectacular Gaylord Texan on Lake Grapevine. Our
conference committee met in July to start working on this year’s
program. Loren Montgomery, Conference Committee Chair, is working to
secure sponsorships and exhibitors from Grapevine area businesses,
and is anxious to get everyone involved in making this the best
conference yet. Save the date June 9-11, 2005 and
Pick Lake Grapevine for
Focus, Friendship and Fun!
I would also like to invite you to attend one of TLTA’s 2004-2005
Board meetings. I really think you have to sit in on one of these
gatherings to have a true picture of all the projects and issues
we’re working on at one time.

complete schedule of this year’s board meetings.
On the regulatory front, TDI posted the call for Agenda Items for
the 2004 Texas Title Insurance Biennial Hearing on their Web site on
July 27.
view the Notice of Call for Issues. The Rates,
Rules and Forms Committee met on August 5 to begin the process of
developing agenda items for consideration during the hearings and
will present their recommendations to the TLTA Board later this
month.
As you can tell, this fall is shaping up to be a challenging one for
TLTA. I appreciate your support and involvement as we work to
represent you and your business interests. If you have comments or
suggestions don't hesitate to contact me or a TLTA staff member.
Best regards,

Terry Grantham
TLTA President
