Cass Burton
Cass Burton is Regulatory Compliance Counsel for Fidelity National Financial Inc.’s Southwest Agency Division. Before joining Fidelity, he served as a Staff Attorney at the Texas Real Estate Commission. Cass serves on a variety of TLTA Committees, including the Legislative Committee, Judiciary Committee, Regulatory Committee, and is a member of the Federal Issues Advisory Group.
Aaron Day
Aaron Day is Director of Government Affairs and Counsel for the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA). Aaron is TLTA’s general counsel, and he directs the association’s government affairs program. In addition to lobbying for TLTA during legislative sessions, Aaron manages the association's role and participation in Texas Department of Insurance regulatory activities, including rate hearings, rule hearings and other regulatory responsibilities.
Sean Elliott
Sean Elliott is a basketball analyst for the San Antonio Spurs local broadcast. A former professional basketball player himself, Sean began his career at the University of Arizona, and was drafted third overall by the San Antonio Spurs in 1989. He was a two time NBA All-Star and helped lead the Spurs to the 1999 NBA title.
Steve Gottheim
Steve is general counsel for the American Land Title Association. In that role he provides strategic advice to the association's leadership, executive staff and various departments and programs. Additionally, Steve previously worked as a legal fellow for Senator Chris Dodd on the Senate Banking Committee. He is a recognized authority on the topics of federal consumer financial laws including RESPA, TILA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley, the ALTA Title Insurance & Settlement Company Best Practices and market conditions in the title insurance and settlement service industry.
David Hays
David Hays is General Counsel, Chief Claims Counsel and Chief Underwriting Counsel for First National Title Insurance Company. He currently serves on the TLTA Legislative Committee, TLTAPAC Board of Trustees, and the TLTA Seller Impersonation Fraud Task Force. David is a veteran of the title insurance industry having worked for over 20 years in every imaginable capacity ranging from abstractor, examiner and closing agent for title agencies, to his current role as leadership role with First National.
Selma Hepp
Selma Hepp is the Executive, Research & Insights and Chief Economist for CoreLogic. In this role, she leads the Economics team and is responsible for analyzing, interpreting and forecasting economic trends in real estate, mortgage and insurance. Selma frequently appears on local and national radio and television programs and has been widely quoted in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and many industry trade publications such as National Mortgage News and HousingWire. Selma recently received the HousingWire Women of Influence Award in 2022.
Avery Johnson
Avery Johnson is an NBA and college basketball analyst for CBS Sports and former player and coach who most recently served as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team. Known as "The Little General" for his on-court leadership, Johnson helped guide the San Antonio Spurs to an NBA Championship in 1999. Johnson spent 16 years in the NBA as a player, and subsequently served as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets, leading the Mavericks to their first NBA Finals appearance. He is still the Spurs' all-time leader in assists and ranks 28th in NBA history in that same category.
Leslie S. Johnson
Leslie S. Johnson is Vice President and Texas State Counsel for WFG National Title Insurance Company. Leslie underwrites title insurance transactions and provides legal support, education, and training to WFG agents in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Leslie is an active TLTA volunteer and currently serves as a member of the TLTA Board of Directors and Chair of the Judiciary Committee. In 2022, she was awarded the James H. Garst President’s Award, and she is an alumni of the 2016 Alex H. Halff Leadership Academy. She is also a member of the TLTA Legislative, Regulatory, and Institute Committees and is a frequent speaker at TLTA events.
G. Roland Love
Roland Love is Vice President, Business Alliances & Field Operations, for Independence Title. He has served as chair of the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section, fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, member of the Texas Title Examination Standards Board, and as an examiner for the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. He currently chairs TLTA’s Texas Land Title Institute Committee (a role he has filled every year since 2002) and the Regulatory Committee. Roland is also a member of TLTA’s Legislative Committee, is a former chair and current member of TLTA’s Judiciary Committee, and former vice chair of the TLTAPAC Board of Trustees. In 2018, Roland was awarded TLTA’s highest honor, Title Person of the Year.
Josephine McGrath
Josephine McGrath is a native Texan from Amarillo. After graduating from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in Denton, she obtained a B.A. in Business from the University of Dallas in Irving, TX. After that, she graduated with her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, NY, and entered the title insurance industry as a claims attorney with FNF in Omaha, NE. After serving in claims, she transitioned to an underwriting position with FNF. She is currently serving as Underwriting Counsel, VP in TX and as the Regional Director of Agency Education and Training for the FNF Southwest Region. She is a current student at the London School of Economics, Executive LLM program with a study focusing on financial regulations.
Leslie Midgley, CAE
Leslie Midgley has served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Texas Land Title Association since 2001, and her professional service to TLTA spans four decades. She has served as chair of the Texas Society of Association Executives Board of Directors, and she received TSAE’s Distinguished Executive Award in 2013. In 2017, Leslie served as President/Board Chair of the Girl Scouts of Central Texas.

Dawn Enoch Moore
Dawn Moore founded Allegiance Title Company in 2009 and now serves as President of AllFirst LLC, the holding company of Allegiance Title, LLC, Excel Title, Aggieland Title, and Fidelity National Title of San Antonio. She has been a leader in Texas’ legal and business community for over 40 years serving the real estate and title industry in a variety of capacities. She was one of six lawyers appointed by the State Bar of Texas to the Texas Real Estate Commissions’ Broker/Lawyer Committee, which is responsible for writing the residential purchase/sale contracts used by real estate licensed holders statewide. Dawn served as 2014-2015 President of the Texas Land Title Association and has been a frequent lecturer for the title and mortgage industries and State Bar on real estate matters.
Dawn holds a B.S. degree in Economics, graduating Magna cum Laude and a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University. In 2005, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award for Corporate Service from the SMU Dedman School of Law. She is Chair of the Dallas Zoo Board of Directors and served a City Councilman and later Mayor ProTemp for the City of University Park, from 2012 to 2018 Co-Chair of the Centennial Master Planning Committee for the City of University Park, Texas.
Brian Pitman
Brian Pitman is one of the Co-Founders and serves as CEO of Independence Title. Independence Title is one of the largest title companies in Texas. Brian has served in numerous positions of leadership within TLTA over the years, serving as President of TLTA from 2010-2011. He currently serves in a variety of ways within the Association including as Local Legislative Liaison and member of the TLTAPAC Board of Trustees, the TDI Licensing Task Force, and the Federal Issues Advisory Group. He is also actively involved in ALTA and has served on the Board of Governors for ALTA. In 2008 he was awarded TLTA’s highest honor, Title Person of the Year.
Jack Rattikin III
Jack Rattikin is Chief Executive Officer of Rattikin Title Company of Fort Worth. He currently serves as President of the American Land Title Association (ALTA), serving on its Board of Governors, and is a Past President of TLTA. In addition to his service to these organizations, Jack has a long track record of service to the community at large through active participation in a wide variety of civic, educational, political, charitable, philanthropic and arts organizations.
Mike Robnett
Mike Robnett is the Managing Director of Texas Capital Bank in Plano, a company he has been with since 1999. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance Major in 1978, and later from the Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in 1987. Mike is actively involved in ALTA and TLTA and has served in various capacities for other community organizations, including the North Texas Alumni Board, YMCA, American Heart Association, and Plano United Way, among others.
Brett Shulick
Brett Shulick is the Executive Vice President, and the Director of National Title Solutions for BankUnited. In his role, Brett is responsible for sales, operations, fintech partnerships, and treasury solutions that cater to the title industry. Prior to the most recent expansion of his responsibilities, Brett served as a Banking Team Lead, focusing on strategic sales to title agents around the country. Brett holds a masters’ degree in business administration from New York University and graduated from Fairfield University where he majored in finance.
Evan Smith
Evan Smith is a co-founder and senior adviser at The Texas Tribune, where he served as CEO from 2009 to 2022. He’s also a senior adviser at Emerson Collective, where he works closely with the leadership teams of nonprofit news organizations around the country. Previously he spent nearly 18 years at Texas Monthly, stepping down in August 2009 as the magazine’s president and editor in chief. Evan is also the host of “Overheard with Evan Smith,” a weekly half-hour interview program that airs on PBS stations around the country. A native of New York, he is a graduate of Hamilton College and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Steve Streiff
Steve Streiff is Vice President and Texas State Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. He currently serves as chair of TLTA’s Legislative Committee and is past chair of the Regulatory Committee. He also serves on TLTA’s Basic Manual Task Force and the Data Privacy Advisory Group. In 2018, he was awarded TLTA’s prestigious President’s Award. Steve is a frequent speaker at continuing education events, a Certified Adult Education Instructor, and a member of the College of the Bar.
David Tandy
David Tandy joined the Mother Lode family of companies as President of Texas National Title in 2016 where he led the expansion of their title and escrow operations to Texas. Previously, David served as the CEO of Gracy Title, a Stewart company in Austin and surrounding metro market. David is actively involved with the title industry, serving as TLTA’s Seller Impersonation Fraud Task Force Chair, and having served many years on TLTA’s Regulatory Committee and TRID Best Practices Task Force and the ALTA Technology Committee. Additionally, David is involved in affordable housing initiatives, and served on the Board of the Austin non-profit Foundation Communities.
