Austin Title Industry Professional Receives Prestigious Honor From Statewide Trade Association

AUSTIN – The Texas Land Title Association (TLTA), one of the state’s oldest trade associations, recently named retired attorney G. Bickford Shaw an Honorary Member for Sustained Meritorious Service during its Annual Conference and Business Meeting. The designation is in recognition of Bickford’s many contributions to the association and the title industry during his career.

“We are delighted to present Bickford with this prestigious honor,” said Leslie Midgley, CAE, Executive Vice President of TLTA. “He is so well respected by all his peers, both for his deep industry expertise as well as for his willingness to share his talents and time for the betterment of his profession. It is only fitting that we recognize his very significant contributions to our industry.”

G. Bickford Shaw has provided underwriting counsel and examination expertise to title agents for more than 30 years. A frequent lecturer on title insurance and real estate issues, he has served as a speaker at the Land Title School of Texas and the Texas Land Title Institute. He has also been Chairman of the Institute as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Title Insurance Guaranty Association. An active member of TLTA throughout his career and President of the association from 1994 to 1995, he received the President’s Award in 1996, 1998 and 2000, and was named Title Man of the Year in 1999.
