This introduction to manufactured housing is designed to familiarize attorneys, paralegals, settlement agents and title insurance professionals with the ways in which manufactured homes impact coverage under a title policy, and how to deal with defects discovered during examination of the title. 1. Difference between a manufactured home’s status as real property or personal property
2. Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs’ role in the status of the manufactured home
3. How to correct defects found in the status of a manufactured home to allow it to be insured under both an owner’s policy and loan policies of title insurance
