Shale of the Century: Small Towns Dazed by Eagle Ford Influx
By Harold Hunt | Tierra Grande Magazine
Technology has a way of humbling those brave enough to forecast our energy future. In an April 1977 speech, President Jimmy Carter declared, "The oil and natural gas we rely on for 75% of our energy are running out." Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan also took a stab at predicting the future of U.S. energy in 2003, testifying before Congress that, "(natural gas) futures prices suggest that we are not apt to return to earlier periods of relative abundance and low prices anytime soon." Both predictions proved to be wrong, and one of the most successful shale formations being tapped today is the Eagle Ford Shale.

Congrats to the Inaugural Class of TLTA's Alex H. Halff Leadership Academy!
TLTA would like to congratulate the inaugural class
of TLTA's Alex H. Halff Leadership Academy, held in April in Austin. At the two-day Academy, attendees learned about generational differences in the workplace, how to best work with people who have differing communication styles and how to become strong leaders with character. The group also had the chance to ask a panel of title industry veterans questions about the industry and leadership. You may view photos from the Academy here
on TLTA's Facebook page. The response to this event from young title professionals was very positive and TLTA looks forward to seeing these folks become more involved and active with the association and watching their careers grow in the industry.
