TLTA Perspectives: How Do You Balance Your Work and Home Life?

Last time, two title professionals tackled the Perspectives question: How do you stay passionate about your work? This month, Brandy Barton, CESA, Branch Manager at DHI Title Company of Central Texas and Chris Phillips, President/CEO of First National Title Insurance Company, give their perspectives on the important question: How do you balance your work life and your home life? Board Approves Changes to TLTA  Bylaws

On July 19, the TLTA Board of Directors voted to make two basic amendments to the TLTA Bylaws. First, a change has been made to allow one and only one large underwriter to have up to two directors serving on the Board at one time. Second, the bylaws were amended to change the makeup of the Section Nominating Committees. You may view the redline version of the approved bylaws amendments. If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Midgley at the TLTA office.

State of Affordability

Tierra Grande | James P. Gaines
Housing affordability refers to the relationship between household income and housing prices. Because the majority of owner-occupant buyers rely on mortgage debt financing, they need to know how much income is necessary to qualify for a loan to buy a particular home. The Center's Texas Housing Affordability Index (THAI) suggests that housing has been consistently more affordable in Texas than for the United States and that the spread in affordability has increased during the recent housing downturn.
