The 3-Generational Workplace: It's (Really!) A Good Thing
Forbes | Dec. 2, 2013
Baby Boomers (a generation 76 million strong) are reaching the traditional retirement age, but many are continuing to work well into their 60s and 70s (and sometimes beyond). At the same time, Millennials (a generation 80 million strong) are advancing in their careers and beginning to take on leadership roles at their companies. Add in the Gen Xers (those in their mid-30s and 40s), and for the first time, we’re seeing a workplace full of three generations. And this mashup, in many cases, has caused a good deal of friction. TLTA Sponsors Texas Historical Commission Courthouse Program
Donley County Named Stewardship Award Winner
Once again this year, TLTA sponsored the Texas Historical Commission (THC) Courthouse Stewardship Program in Austin. The two-day educational program is attended by county officials and courthouse maintenance personnel from those Texas counties that are part of the very successful THC Courthouse Restoration Program. The program provides instruction and best practices for maintaining these beautifully restored Texas treasures — everything from managing rust to keeping bats out of the belfry is on the program!
At the conclusion of the program, the TLTA sponsored stewardship award was presented by TLTA Executive Vice President Leslie Midgley to Donley County Judge Jack Hall. The award recognizes counties that have established good stewardship practices to maintain their courthouse in restored condition. In addition to bringing recognition to the county, the awards are an incentive to all counties to develop maintenance planning, adequate funding and undertake quality work.
