TLTA Introduces Its Newest President, James H. Dudley, IV

Please join TLTA in welcoming its 2016-2017 President, James H. Dudley, IV.
 
James serves as President of Central Texas Land Titles, Inc. and an attorney with the Yates Law Firm. Prior to that, he worked as a commercial escrow officer with Charter Title in Houston from 2006 to 2008. He has served as a member of the TLTA Board for several years and as chairman of the association’s Agent Section and Regulatory Committees. Outside of TLTA, he has served as President of the Highland Lakes Texas Exes and a member of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association’s Tax and Legislative Committee. He received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from the South Texas College of Law. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas. Congratulations, James!

TLTA is proud to announce the winners of this year's awards, which were distributed at the Annual Conference and Business Meeting. Each of these individuals have greatly contributed to this industry's success, and TLTA is honored to celebrate them.

John F. Rothermel, III, Senior Vice President/Regional Underwriting Counsel and Senior Underwriter at Stewart Title Guaranty Company, received the esteemed Title Person of the Year Award. The award, which is the highest honor bestowed by TLTA, recognizes significant and longtime contributions to the title industry and the association.

Outgoing President Patti K. Bonner, CTIP, awarded Leslie Midgley, CAE, Executive Vice President and CEO of Texas Land Title Association, with the prestigious James H. Garst President’s Award. The award recognizes the achievements of an individual who has shown outstanding service to the TLTA president during his or her year in office.

Marysol Ortiz, CESP, Senior Escrow Officer at Northshore Title, Inc., received the esteemed Professional Excellence Award. The award recognizes those in the title industry who make a difference behind the scenes and highlights their extraordinary achievement. Winners of this award are nominated by co-workers or peers.

Retired attorney Tim Redding was named an Honorary Member for Sustained Meritorious Service. The designation is in recognition of Tim’s many contributions to the association and the title industry over a long period of time.

Thanks to All Who Made the Bert Massey Classic Golf Tournament a Success

The 8th Annual Bert Massey Classic Golf Tournament held on the first day of the TLTA Annual Conference and Business Meeting was a huge success, with over 70 golfers raising more than $15,500 for the TLTAPAC. Despite the Galveston heat, the golfers enjoyed their day on the course, followed by an awards luncheon sponsored by First American Title Insurance Company.
