TLTA Board Holds Annual Planning Meeting
Clockwise from top left: Senator José Menéndez addresses the board; TLTA board members, committee chairs and staff prepare for the meeting; (left-right) Chancellor Kent Hance, Allen Place and Curt Seidlits discuss the upcoming legislative session; TLTA board members and staff are ready to get the meeting started.
Last week, the 2016 - 2017 Board of Directors kicked off the year with their annual planning and orientation meeting. President James H. Dudley, IV, presided over the meeting, and the TLTA leadership were updated on all of TLTA’s programming as well as the status of current issues, including the TAB/TPPF attack on our regulatory system. The group heard guest presentations by TREC Chairman Avis Wukasch, Senator José Menéndez and several distinguished members of our lobby team who are former elected officials: Chancellor Kent Hance, Allen Place and Curt Seidlets. The day-long meeting was very productive, and the board will meet again in November to conduct regular business. TLTA appreciates the dedication and hard work of its volunteer leaders!

Business Matters: How Timely Social Media Can Keep Your Customers Happy
Forbes | Aug. 22, 2016
A brand’s silence in social media is deafening.
Customers who tweet a brand expect a response. More than half (53 percent) want to hear back within an hour. And when the tweet references a problem, that figure jumps to 72 percent, according to a study by market research firm Millward Brown Digital.
Yet the average response time for brands on Twitter is more than four hours – if they respond at all. And the response rate among Interbrand’s 100 Best Global Brands averages at just 42 percent, according to a study by software company Simply Measured.
And that makes customers mad.
