TLTA Introduces New Cyber Fraud Resources Web Page
The new TLTA Cyber Security Task Force, chaired by David Tandy, was created because of the need to work together as an industry to raise awareness and promote prevention measures.
One important goal for the Task Force is developing an online collection of resources to help TLTA members identify and prevent cyber crime and wire fraud. The new TLTA Cyber Fraud Resources web page has links to flyers, handouts and a video that may help your company and your clients keep their digital information safe.

Borrowers Can Now Turn to Crowdfunding, Airbnb Hosting to Raise Down Payment

Privately-held mortgage banking firm CMG Financial has launched HomeFundMe — a pilot crowdfunding service that’s the first to receive approval from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. To facilitate the crowdfunding process, HomeFundMe received approval from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for borrowers to accept money from a wider array of potential donors.

TLTA President Chris Phillips Attends THC Courthouse Stewardship Program Event
TLTA would like to thank President J. Christopher Phillips for representing our association in Falfurrias at a Texas Historical Commission Courthouse Stewardship Program event.
Since the 1970s, the THC has taken an active role in the preservation of county courthouses.
In 2005, THC asked TLTA to support the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Initiative, a training and technical program designed to promote the ongoing, regular maintenance of Texas' historic county courthouses. The stewardship program consists of site visits by THC architects, annual training workshops for county judges and maintenance workers to address issues like inspecting the exterior, identifying mechanical malfunctions and budgeting for maintenance. The land title industry has a long and symbolic relationship with the county courthouses, so it seemed only natural to support this endeavor.
