Shannon Doyle Osborn named President of South Land Title
South Land Title has announced that Shannon Doyle Osborn assumed the role of President effective January 1, 2024. In her new role, she will oversee South Land’s operations in the Gulf Coast area, which includes offices in Beaumont, Crystal Beach, Pasadena, Galveston, Pearland, Texas City and League City, including the Commercial Division.

In Memoriam: Rusty Buerger
DECEMBER 23, 1946 — DECEMBER 31, 2023
Rusty Buerger, 77, of Bedford, Texas, passed peacefully at her family’s home in Houston on December 31, 2023.
Rusty was a well-respected compliance and knowledge expert in the Title Insurance Industry for over 50 years. She worked at several companies across a handful of states. She eventually transferred to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where she began a long and successful career. She was with First American Title Insurance Company for 20+ years. She then went to work for Capital Title in 2013, where she was given the opportunity to make a lasting impact not just in the company but also on the people. Rusty retired from work in October 2021 as the VP of Compliance at Capital Title, but she never stopped making herself available to be a support and friend to those she knew, and she will be missed greatly by her industry friends.

In Memoriam: Lynn Lentscher
DECEMBER 4, 1945 — JANUARY 5, 2024
Lynn Katherine Laursen Lentscher, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Celina, Texas, on January 5, 2024. She was born December 4, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents EJ and Esther Laursen.
Lynn had a long and successful career in the title business as a marketing representative. She eventually joined Republic Title where she served as the Vice President of Marketing. Winning several industry awards and recognitions, she thoroughly enjoyed, and excelled at, coaching, mentoring and educating.
In 1998, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She won this battle and remained cancer-free for the remainder of her life. Guided by her experiences and her faith, Lynn would become a founding member and future president of Be the Difference, a foundation dedicated to raising ovarian cancer awareness.
