Before You Start Collaborating with Someone, Talk About Your Work Styles
Harvard Business Review

This “style alignment” conversation can lay a foundation for trust and understanding and help you set agreements for how to successfully work together. If you better understand where someone is coming from, you don’t just react to their behavior and feel annoyed by making potentially false assumptions about why someone is behaving a certain way. Instead, you can bring more compassion and less reactivity into your work relationships and maybe even preempt work conflict

Red River County Courthouse Honored with TLTA-Sponsored Texas Courthouse Stewardship Award
Since the 1970s, the Texas Historical Commission (THC) has taken an active role in the preservation of county courthouses, and TLTA is honored to have provided funding for the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Award and Texas Courthouse Stewardship Initiative, a training and technical program designed to promote the ongoing, regular maintenance of Texas' historic county courthouses, since 2005.
The Texas Courthouse Stewardship Award recognizes counties that have established good stewardship practices to maintain their courthouses in historically accurate condition. At this year's Real Places Conference, Kim Schoppert, TLTA Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, had the pleasure to announce Red River County as this year's recipent of Award for Outstanding Stewardship of a historic courthouse.
The Honorable Robert Bridges Red River County Judge, accepts this year's Stewardship Award from Kim Schoppert, TLTA Vice President and COO, and Elizabeth Brummet, THC Architecture Division Director
The 1884 Red River County Courthouse in Clarksville was rededicated in October 2002, following a full restoration of its Renaissance Revival-style courthouse in the first round of the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program. The grant-funded project included reconstructing the courthouse’s badly deteriorated limestone finial, its central clock tower, and a full restoration of the interior spaces. In addition to outstanding building maintenance, former County Judge L.D. Williamson assisted the THC with the creation of the Historic Courthouse Maintenance Handbook.
